Winter 2017 Retreats

Men’s Bible Retreat
January 20-21, 2017

“MANHOOD REDEEMED”

Presenter: Rev. Jonathan Walla, Bethel Lutheran Church.
When it comes to being a man, there is great confusion. And it’s no wonder. We have plenty of examples of men having abused and shirked the gifts and roles that God has given to them. In addition, our pop-culture’s portrayal of men as inept and apathetic to scripture’s accounts of man’s botched jobs, the disappointment is thick. But for all of Adam’s descendants – for all of the unrighteousness of men – God has a plan. Christ stands alone as the righteous man, whose sacrificial death on the cross buys you back. Now, seeing that we’ve been redeemed in Christ, what does living righteously as men look like when done for the sake of others? For over 25 years men have enjoyed the camaraderie of these retreats, thought-provoking Scripture-based presentations, and fellowship. Father & son duos are encouraged to come.
Begins with 6 P.M. Supper Friday, January 20th – ends 3:30 P.M. Saturday
Cost – $80. Includes: 3 meals, lodging, speaker, snacks, games, fire-side chats, etc. Bring: Bible, bed roll, personal items, warm clothing, & friends

November 17-18, 2017
How would you like to have some assistance in your preparations for the holidays? How about this:
TRAK 1: Bring your favorite special holiday cookie recipe to share and we’ll make a batch or two of everyone’s cookies to divide up and take home for the holidays.
TRAK 2: Learn to make Chocolate Covered Cherries, Babe Ruth’s, Carmel Chews, Peanut Clusters, and Caramels. We’ll have a wonderful time of sharing and conversation while we accomplish this great task. We’ll even take a moment or two for some “Sweet time with Jesus.” $125 covers the cost of lodging, food, and candy/baking supplies. Bring your spouse to decorate for Christmas.
